Maple Bear Canadian Early Education System

The Star Global School, Rohtak will be starting the Maple Bear Canadian Early System from the Academic Year 2021-22. For 2021-22, the first year, we will take new admissions in Maple Bear for Nursery, LKG & UKG. Admissions in other classes from class 1st to class 8th will be CBSE Pattern. The following years, One Maple Bear Elementary class every year up to Grade 5 will be added and be part of the Maple Bear programme.

Foundation Principles

All instruction in the Maple Bear Preschool follows educational principles which have made Canadian practice so successful:

Outcomes are defined: Learning is targeted to achieve very specific learning outcomes. It is clear what the children need to learn.

Canadian performance standards are applied: Canadian performance standards determine the learning outcomes. Maple Bear students are expected to achieve performance levels similar to Canadians.

Curriculum development for English-language subjects is done in Canada by Canadian experts.

Canadian style teaching strategies are implemented: Canadian teaching strategies encourage student independence, strong literacy skills, higher level thinking and problem solving.

A sophisticated set of learning resources are used: Learning resources include books, manipulative materials, visual materials, electronic media, and computer technology.

Assessment of student learning is based on Canadian standards. In all cases, Canadian programming exceeds the requirements of local elementary education authorities in each country.

The Story of Maple Bear

The idea to develop Maple Bear Canadian schools grew out of the work of the Canadian Education Centre Network (CECN), a non-profit organization supported by the Government of Canada and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada which was mandated to market Canadian education abroad to attract foreign students to study in Canada.

The first Maple Bear Canadian School to open was in Indirapuram (New Delhi), India in 2005.

In 2007, Maple Bear became a privately owned company with a dozen schools operating in Korea, Brazil, and India. Those numbers quickly changed as news of the excellence of Canadian immersion and bilingual education spread, especially among parents who could see the positive outcomes in language, learning, and behavior of their children.
